This Privacy Policy explains how LuminFin ("we", "our", or "the app") handles your information when you use our AI-powered personal finance and investing application. By using LuminFin, you agree to the practices described below.
LuminFin is designed to be privacy-first. The information you provide during onboarding — including your name, age, occupation, risk tolerance, investment goals, time horizon, chosen markets, and sector preferences — is stored locally on your own device. Your email and password (if you create an account) are also stored locally on your device.
We currently do not operate central servers that store your personal profile. This means your data stays on your device and is not transmitted to or retained by us.
The information you provide is used solely to:
When you use AI features (portfolio builder, stock analysis, risk reports, or the Advisor chat), the relevant prompt — which may include your profile details such as risk level and goals — is sent to a third-party AI provider to generate a response. This is used only to produce your result and is not used by us to build a marketing profile of you. We recommend not entering sensitive personal information (such as bank details, passwords, or government IDs) into the chat.
Similarly, when you view quotes, charts, or reports, the relevant stock symbols are sent to our market-data provider to retrieve live figures. These requests do not include your name, email, or profile details.
Stock prices, index values, quotes, and price-history charts shown in LuminFin are sourced from Twelve Data, a professional market-data provider, and may be subject to brief delays depending on the exchange. AI-generated content — such as analysis narratives, portfolio suggestions, risk commentary, and estimated fundamentals where live figures are unavailable — are estimates for educational purposes and may be inaccurate. Nothing in the app should be relied upon as the sole basis for actual trading decisions.
Because your data is stored locally on your device, its security depends on your device's own protections. You can permanently remove all of your stored data at any time using the "Delete Account" option in the app's profile screen, or by uninstalling the app. See our account deletion page for details.
LuminFin is intended for users who are of legal age to make investment decisions in their jurisdiction. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
LuminFin relies on third-party infrastructure for hosting and AI processing. These providers process data only as needed to deliver the app's functionality and under their own privacy and security commitments.
Since your data lives on your device, you have full control. You can view, edit (by re-doing onboarding), or delete your data at any time directly within the app.
We may update this Privacy Policy as the app evolves — for example, if we introduce cloud accounts in the future. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last Updated" date above.
